Electric Scooters Went On Trial In London

We are finally seeing electric scooters going on a trial run here in London! You need to be over 18 and have a driver’s license. You can only use the road and can be fined up to £100 for running a red light as well as losing 6 points on your driver’s license. Riding on the pavement warrants a fine of up to £50. Additionally, you aren’t allowed to go out of the designated areas. You are only allowed to ride rented scooters and Department of Translort’s speed limit is set at 15.5 miles per hour. No helmet is required, only recommended. The scooters cost about a pound to unlock and have a minute fee of about 16 pence. The trial that begun yesterday is scheduled to last for 12 months and if it goes well then we may finally see some easing/laws created for us so please ride responsibly!
